Our suggested itinerary for a premium, 7-night beach holiday on the paradise archipelago of Jardines del Rey.
8 day tour (excl. flights)Offerfrom £599 p.p.
If paradise is what you’re searching for then look no further than this holiday to an all-inclusive resort on the Jardines del Rey – the ‘Kings Gardens’. So named for its spectacular natural beauty by the Spanish colonists in the 16th Century, this island chain is made up of a series of quintessentially Cuban ‘cayos’, or keys. More recently, the main cayos of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo served as the inspiration for Ernest Hemingway’s novels ‘Islands in the Stream’ and ‘The Old Man and the Sea’.
Aside from having some of Cuba’s most impressive beaches, the island chain is also home to the El Baga National Park, where you will find a brilliant array of wildlife. A short boat-ride away in Cayo Media Luna you’ll find an outlying island-paradise with a beautiful coral reef that’s ideal for snorkeling.
You fly directly into Jardines del Rey Airport on Cayo Coco, from where there will be a transfer to take you to your premium, all-inclusive resort. The next week is entirely yours, to spend as you so wish, whether that’s lounging on the sandy beaches, getting involved in the many water-sport activities on offer, or exploring the local area.
If you do decide to venture further afield, it’s well worth going on a boat excursion to Cayo Media Luna, or heading off to explore the beautiful tropical forests, which are bursting with wildlife, including flamingos and even salt-water crocodiles.
